Prince Edward Island

  • Linked to the continent through a bridge
  • 140.000 inhabitants
  • Pleasant weather all year long
  • Anne of Green Gables' land

It is an island originally inhabited by the Micmac and it used to be a French colony. In 1798, after being conquered, Britain changed the name and renamed it Prince Edward Island in honour of the fourth son of King George III of the United Kingdom.

It is the area of Canada that recorded the highest temperatures in winter and lower in summer. This climate and landscape inspired the book "Anne of Green Gables" as its author was born on this island.
